RYAN SIENKO
Ryan founded Catch and Throw, a catching instruction, information, and conditioning company, in late 2005 and
started conducting comprehensive catching camps in the summer of 2006. Catch and Throw was formed to provide quality professional
catching instruction for the health and performance of catchers. He works catching camps for USC baseball, Las Vegas Baseball Academy,
and is the catching consultant for many travel teams across the country. He also speaks nationally about all aspects of catching,
blocking, throwing, conditioning, and strategy. He has appeared on the popular television show Sports Science as an expert and has
written for Super Series Magazine and Webball.com.
An associate scout for the Baltimore Orioles, Ryan is also co-founder of
Prepared Coach, a company that trains coaches of all levels fundamental skills, drills, and helps prepare the coaches for practices
and games. He was the Director of Operations, Director of Baseball Operations, and Instructor for the National Pitching Association
from 2002-2007. He was responsible for the day to day operations and in charge of the NPA Performance Center and Motion Lab. He has
contributed to the NPA website and is currently an NPA Pitching Coach leading camps and clinics along with private instruction. Ryan
and Tom House have traveled across the country conducting pitching clinics for thousands of athletes each year. Prior to joining the
NPA full time in the fall of 2003, Ryan helped Tom coach pitching clinics in San Diego and not only taught, but has caught numerous
Major League pitchers including future Hall of Famer Randy Johnson. Each year Ryan works with over 1,000 pitchers, coaches, and parents
while conducting pitching camps and clinics. He personally worked with 14 players who were drafted in the 2008 Major League Baseball
Draft. He also works with several professional players every off-season. For 6 years he has spoken nationally on pitching mechanics,
conditioning, and strategy. In 2009 Ryan coached at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, CA where his team finished with a 20-3
record. He also works with pitchers at all levels to maximize their usable strength, mechanics, and performance.
Before joining
the NPA, he was a catcher at the University of Iowa. He played professionally for 8 seasons with the Texas Rangers, Chicago White
Sox and in independent baseball where he was an All-Star. In early 2010 Ryan the Joliet Jackhammers inducted him as the inaugural
player to their Hall of Fame. For three off-seasons, Ryan was a traveling instructor for Baseball Factory, a college recruiting company,
based in Columbia, MD, where he managed several showcase teams and taught hitting and catching across the nation. He also has taught
for a number of Baseball Academies and is a consultant for Bedinger’s Bullpen, a baseball academy, in Joliet, IL. He coached a highly
competitive travel baseball team out of Rancho Santa Fe, CA and Del Mar, CA that prides itself in the health and performance of all
of its players.
Ryan lives outside of San Diego in Poway, CA with his wife Andrea, daughter Kacey, and son Brycen
